Famous for Swallow Falls - a stunning series of Water Falls located just off the A55. Portmeirion has been described as the village where Wales becomes Italy, where the Mediterranean meets medieval Britain and the Orient. The architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis created the village between 1925 and 1972, when he wanted to fulfil his boyhood dream of building his own ideal village on some romantic coastal site.
